This morning there was a short 'blip' in routing to servers to the AccessITX facility where some of our equipment is housed.
It has been confirmed that there were brief intermittent power outages that lasted for a few minutes on the LILCO power grid, which in part feeds our New York data centers.
Immediately following, UPS equipment and the data center generators kicked in. During this crucial time, some minor routing issues became apparent, dependent on routes used by your ISP.
As such, servers may have appeared to go off-line and unreachable for approximately 1 minute or more. However, our own UPS systems prevented any of our equipment from shutting down.
Power to the facility was restored a few minutes after the first failure and now has been operating normally at 100% since.
As the entire New York Metropolitan area is experiencing high heat indexes with record power usage, there is always a slight chance that subsequent power grid outages may result.
We, and our data center engineers, are proactively monitoring the situation as the day progresses to ensure that your servers remain online.
